As junior year ends, I now think of my senior year. The pivotal point of the high school years and the one that is desired with anxiousness and anxiety by students.
Making a goal or a list of tasks to accomplish from the summer before senior year to the end of the school year is a great visual to accomplish tasks. This helps as a mental breakdown of what to accomplish by when. Feel free to use this list as a guide!
Below is my list:
Summer (June- August)
- Apply for scholarships
- Gather my college applications and start working on them (see deadlines per college)
- Tour colleges that spark interest
- Take the SAT/ACT
- Buy school supplies
- Make bullet journal
- Schedule senior photos
Fall (September- November)
- Apply for scholarships
- Ask for recommendations
- Finish and submit college applications as well as essays
- Take the SAT/ACT for the last time
- Do final college tours and overnight tours
- Talk to guidance counselors
Winter (December- February)
- Apply for scholarships
- Ace midterms
- Confirm received applications
- Await college decisions
- Talk to guidance counselors
Spring (March-May)
- Apply for scholarships
- Send thank you notes to teachers, counselor, and staff
- Ace finals (online and AP classes) and graduate!
- Choose a college
- Finalize payment and reach deadlines for college of choice (transcript, housing, roommate, meal plan, etc.)
- Watch these iconic films
- Plan your graduation party
Summer (June- August)
- Complete any last-minute paperwork
- Buy dorm decor
- Set up your college schedule
- Prepare for college
- Contact roommate
- Welcome to college!
Oh where are you from? I agree! I find that fascinating too! This is just like our different time zones; we’re all on the same Earth doing (overall) the same thing at different times:)
I’m not from the US but I always love whenever someone talks about American school/collage. It’s so different to our schoolsystem. I think it’s funny how we are all educated differently but still people expect kind of the same things from us.
