Hey there! This post is long overdue!
For Thankgiving break, my parents and I went to three different cities in California!
Our flight started off with quite an experience. From Orlando, we flew into Chicago O’Hare Airport. Instead of boarding the flight to San Diego airport, we missed it and waited on standby to go to the Los Angeles Airport. We were able to get on the flight (woo!) and used an uber to get to San Diego Airport to pick up our bags.
Below is the itinerary. My mom mapped out where we planned to visit each stop. Some things just didn’t go as planned.

This was my first time being in San Diego. Our hotel was in a good central area near Seaport Village. We took a bus tour to see Gaslamp, Old Town, and many other tourist locations. Balboa Park had many different activities and things to do near by such as the San Diego Zoo or the USS Midway Museum. The museum is of a maritime museum with aircraft carriers focused on naval history in the 1980s. There’s so much to do that you won’t be bored!
- Anaheim
Besides walking down the strip, we did nothing here. We moved to the Courtyard Mariott close by after a bad experience and visual representation of Quality Inn. My dad had the flu and my mom and I got it the day we planned to go to Disneyland.
This area reminds me of a smaller version of International Drive in Florida. There are many restaurants here but, stores were hard to find. This city is mainly attracted for Disneyland. If you plan to visit this city, I would suggest staying for a few days, not a week.
- Los Angeles
This was my second or third time in LA. Our hotel was in the heart of everything. We didn’t need a cab for restaurants or activities nearby. Cuisines of mulitple styles including American, Japanease, and French are just some if the options available. There was a Grammy Museum in walking distance. If you plan to see a hockey or basketball gamw, the stadium is within walking distance. The Grove is an outdoor mall! There are many stores and different restaurants! Inside the Grove, you can find the Original Farmers Market which is a sight! Rodeo Drive has stores and restaurants that stars may visit. Definitely take the time to visit Sprinkles, a popular cupcake store known for lines of people waiting at the original bakery!
